Program to Support Infant Mental Health (PASMI)
The evidence is strong that psychiatric disorders first appear in childhood or adolescence. And it is usually these disorders that score highest in the World Health Organization's estimates of the global burden of disease.
The purpose of the child mental health support program is to provide diagnosis and treatment to families whose children are between 5 and 9 years old and who have mental health problems or disorders, such as anxiety, mood, behavioral disorders, among others. Children between 5 and 9 years old who are FONASA beneficiaries, registered in the health center and who belong to the communes selected by the program can access this program.
It provides comprehensive mental health care by strengthening the mental health services available in primary care, mainly through the PHC Mental Health Program, and refers to the case management program "Accompaniment of children at high psychosocial risk".
