Indication for deep brain stimulation in patients with Parkinson's disease.

Deep brain stimulation is indicated for people whose symptoms cannot be controlled with medication.
It involves the implantation of electrodes inside certain areas of the brain, which are connected to a pulse generator that acts as a battery or pacemaker.
These electrodes produce electrical impulses that regulate the abnormal impulses present in Parkinson's disease.
