Epidural and Spinal Anesthesia
Regional anesthesia with the technique of puncturing an area of the back, consists of accessing the epidural space (epidural anesthesia), the subarachnoid space (spinal anesthesia) or a combination of both, for the administration of drugs.
The advantages over general anesthesia are: fewer side effects and risks, the person retains consciousness and mobility. There are differences between epidural and spinal anesthesia in terms of characteristics, risks and use.
